Blackhawks Ground Game Send Bears into Hibernation with 26-6 Victory

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (February 9, 2020) -- The Blackhawks used it's running game on Saturday night in their LDFL opener rushing for 240 yards as they defeated the visiting 805 Bears from Thousand Oaks by the score of 26-6. The Blackhawks were led by RB Dezhontaey Fletcher who led the team with 12 rushes for 103 yards and 2TD's . His performance earned him the Crab Shack Player of the Game. Fletcher also caught a 20 pass from QB Robert Fuller Sr. to cap his all-purpose yards out at 123 yards. RB Jason Allmond was right behind Fletcher in rushing with 55 yards on 12 carries and 1 TD. The Blackhawks offense which is known for it's high flying air attack, turned the tables this week and used it's running game to combat what the Bears had prepared for through their scouting. "I'm glad coach changed it up because teams are out there floating and sharing our field trying to get a heads up on what it will take to beat us", stated LB Devin Jones. QB Fuller had a light night going 12 of 22 for 149 yards 1 TD and 2 INT's. His lone touchdown went to WR Justin Sydney who is becoming one of the elite receivers in the LDFL.

On defense the Blackhawks used an aggressive bullying defense to smolder the Bears pass and run game limiting them to 157 total yards on the day. With 6 sacks and 3 interceptions, it made the game manageable from a defensive perspective. There only breakdown on the day defensively was a touchdown run by Bears RB Landon O'Connell on a broken play in which he made some magnificent moves on his way to a 27 yard touchdown run. DE's Lonnie Bickham and Devierre Glenn Sr both had phenomenal games combining for 5.5 sacks. LB Devin Jones had 8 tackles to lead the defense in that category while DB Cory Butler-Byrd had 2 interception to hold down the secondary.
