Blackhawk Defense Record 11 sacks to Lead Inglewood to a Dominating 38-0 win over Royals

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 20, 2023) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks (10-0) kept their undefeated record in place as the dominated the visiting Everett (WA) Royals by the score of 38-0 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Inglewood's stingy defense led the way recording 11 sacks on the night as well as 21 tackles for loss. The Royals never got in a groove as they only tallied 81 total yards on the night. There were a plethora of players who contributed to the dominance but DE Quran Bouldin is quietly making a huge name for himself. Bouldin had 9 tackles, 4 TFL, and 3 sacks on the day. Derrick Nubia, Mikell Mair, Devin Jones, Clinton Greenaway, and Chris Fuifui wreaked havoc on the Royals from so many different angles that their quarterbacks had no tie to be productive. After the game, Royals QB Rodney Raines said, "That's a fast team over there. Every time I looked up, there was somebody coming at me and in my face".

Offensively, the Blackhawks used four different QB's to allow each of them to get some quality game reps and three of them threw touchdowns. "When we knew the Royals wouldn't be able to keep up with us, we let all 55 of our players touch the field" stated linebacker coach Danny Henry. Nolan Brammer led all QB's going 13 of 18 for 194 yards 2 TD's and 1 Int and 1 rushing TD. Wooda Armstrong had a 10 yard touchdown pass as well as a 4 yard touchdown scamper in the 2nd quarter. Gabe Thomas recorded his first touchdown pass of the season with a 26 yard strike to WR Zach Fields II. But the offensive star of the game was WR Vincent Strange Jr who hauled in 7 receptions for 118 yards and 3 TD's. His performance earned him the Gumbo Boys Player of the Game. "Strange has quietly become one of the most dangerous receivers in the nation and he does it one one of the most humble ways", stated head coach Tony Reid.

With the win, the Blackhawks are one step closer to another national championship appearance, their seventh in team history where they've one three. The West Sound Rebels await as they defeated the South Lake Buzzards by the score of 26-7.
