Sydney's 2 TD's Lead Explosive Blackhawk Offense to 68-18 Victory over Mecca Town


COVINA, Calif. (June 28, 2021) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks used a fast paced offense led by QB Robert Fuller Sr. to run away from the Meccas Town Bulldogs early as they defeated the visitors by the score of 68-18 at Covina District Stadium. Only is one half of work, Fuller threw for 156 yards and 5 TD's to lead the offense. All of the starting Blackhawk receivers had four touchdowns on the day. WR Billy Jordan led the charge with a big day locking in 6 receptions for 161 yards and 2 TD's. WR's D.J. Carter and Tony Parham both had two as well. Parham also chipped in with a great one handed 2 point conversion as well. RB Donte Turner continues to rip up the ground game rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on the day. QB Jimmy Do played the 3rd quarter and threw for two touchdowns in his short time of play.


Defensively the Blackhawks had the Bulldog QB Fausto Buelna on the run all day as they forced hum into throwing 4 interceptions while being sacked 11 times. "We actually had 5 starters sit out this game so we can give our two's some solid game action and they did very, very well" stated Blackhawks Defensive Coordinator Steph Ross. DB Curtis Chatmon, who is a starter picked off two Buelna passes while LB Chris Benson and DB Derl Howard had the others. Howard returned his interception back for a 30 yard touchdown. DE Devierre Glenn and LB Devin Jones both had three sacks on the day leading a fierce and fast defense.


With the win, Inglewood moves to 8-0 and completes an undefeated regular season as well as the #1 seed in the upcoming LDFL playoffs. They will host the lowest remaining seed in the playoffs on July 17th. Game details and information will be posted after the first round games that take place on Saturday, July 10th.
