"Move, Get Out the Way" - Inglewood defeats North County 40-0 in one half of Football

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 20, 2021) -- RB Trae Bickham led a potent Blackhawk running game that stocked up 210 yards and 4 touchdowns as Inglewood defeated the North County Zulus by the score of 40-0 Saturday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Bickham had three touchdowns on the ground and had a magnificent 35 scamper in which he, "Derrick Henry'd" the defensive back to the ground on the way to the touchdown. RB Donte Turner led the attack with 138 yards on 11 carries and 1 touchdown. The offensive line opened some gaping holes which catapulted Turner to 4 runs over 25 yards. Both WR's D.J. Carter (3 rec 63 yards) and Justin Sydney (4 rec 41 yards) had solid performances through the air while each having a touchdown reception on the day. QB Jimmy Do was 10 of 19 for 131 yards and 2TD's.

Inglewood harassed the Zulus QB all day which turned into 3 sacks and 2 interceptions. Mark English and Curtis Chatmon both had interceptions while DE Kenny Perry, LB Devin Jones, and DT Edwin Flores all had sacks for the Blackhawks.

But the story of the evening wasn't the score but the Zulus refusal to play the second half as several of their players took off their equipment and left the stadium. "That hurt my soul to see those players quit on their team during the middle of a game" stated Blackhawk coach Malcolm Pigford. Our owner Tony Reid spoke to theirs at halftime was informed that the players just quit. He said it was something that he had never seen before. The win pushes Inglewood to 7-0 and the #1 seed in the playoffs. They will host the Mecca Town Bulldogs this upcoming weekend June 26th at 5PM at Covina District Stadium.
