Inglewood Moves to 2-0 with Big Win over Coyotes

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 14, 2022) -- The Blackhawks were on a mission coming into week two as they knew they would be facing a well coached and talented Coyotes team. It didn't take long for Inglewood to get the wheels turning as they raced out to a 26-0 first quarter lead and a 46-3 halftime lead as they defeated the So Cal Coyotes by the score of 52-3 Saturday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Blackhawks offense looked amazing behind the play of QB Jimmy Do who was 11 of 21 for 234 yards and 5 TD's. His biggest target on the night was WR Justin Sydney who lit up the Coyotes secondary with 4 receptions for 120 yards and 3 TD's. Do and Sydney connected on the 3rd play from scrimmage for a beautiful 75 yard pass and catch touchdown. The Blackhawks never looked back. WR D.J. Carter added to the dominant passing game collecting 3 receptions for 59 yards and a magnificent, "Randy Moss" style catch for a touchdown. Dual athlete Devin Gage playing in his first game of the season caught a TD pass from Do as well while picking off a Coyotes pass on defense. "I had to get some things in order outside of football but now I'm back and ready to turn up with my brothers", stated Gage.

Defensively Inglewood played a stellar game collecting 6 sacks while intercepting the Coyotes 5 times on the night. Two of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns by DB Dustin Presley and DB Curtis Chatmon. Both were in a span of a minute and 30 seconds. DB Mark English collected his second interception of the season while LB Chris Fuifui picked one off as well. The defensive front squandered the Coyotes running game limiting them to under 30 yards on the night. Former New York Jets DT Rony Barrow was a menace out there as he was responsible for quite a few of those errand passes pressuring the Coyotes QB out of the pocket.

Inglewood (2-0) will travel to San Diego this weekend where they will take on another tough opponent in the San Diego Silverbacks. San Diego defeated Santa Clarita this past week by the score of 17-14. Kickoff is set for 2PM at Lincoln High School in San Diego.
