Inglewood Chases down Tigers en route to 74-14 Victory

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 27, 2022) -- The Blackhawks jumped out to a 52-6 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated the Santa Clarita Tigers by the score of 74-14 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Inglewood opened up the scoring barrage behind the legs of RB Terrell Alex who had a game high 4 touchdowns while rushing for 160 yards on 15 carries. Both he and RB Kendall Gordon topped the century mark as Gordon rushed for 108 yards on 9 carries and 1 touchdown. The Blackhawks ran the ball 24 times while only passing it 15. Despite the low pass total, QB Jimmy Do was efficient as he was 8 of 10 for 138 yards 3 TD's and 1 INT. Do's touchdown passes went to WR D.J. Carter (3 rec. 81 yards 2 TD's) and WR Tony Parham. Newly acquired Blackhawk QB J.R. Cammack played the second half and did an exceptionally good job considering that was his first game action for Inglewood. Cammack was 2 of 4 for 45 yards and a 38 yard TD strike to ATH Brian Flowers Jr.

On defense, the Blackhawks were amazing racking up 12 sacks and 2 interceptions. DB Darod McKnight hauled in his first interception as a Blackhawks while Emoni Washington had the other in which he returned for yet another Blackhawk defensive touchdown on the season. "I take pride in my defense competing with our offense on scoring each game" stated Blackhawk defensive coach Tim Lane". This excites me to know we have 7 defensive touchdowns on the season. But the day belonged to DE Jeff Bradley who harassed and chased down the Tigers QB's all day. Bradley had a MVP type day with 8 tackles, 5 TFL, 5 sacks, and 2 FR which earned him Week Four Defensive Player of the Week. "I'm so excited to see him work each week because he takes the game serious and is dialed in from the time he comes to the stadium" stated LB coach Danny Henry". Other stand out defensive performances were put in by LB Chris Benson (5 tackles 1 TFL, 1 sack), DB Dustin Presley (7 tackles), LB Anuart Mendez (6 tackles) and both DE Travis Taylor and LB Daniel Packer who both had 2 sacks apiece.

The Blackhawks (4-0) will be on the road this week as they travel to Palm Springs to take on the So. Cal Coyotes who were victorious over the San Diego Silverbacks by the score of 22-2. Kickoff is set for 3PM at Desert Chapel High School. For game or team information, call the Blackhawk team office at 424.262.4510.
