Former Seattle Seahawks LB Kache Palacio has Breakout Debut in Blackhawks 34-26 win
SAN JACINTO, Calif. (May 16, 2021) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks moved to 3-0 on the season as they defeated a pesky West Coast Lions team by the score of 34-26 in week 6 of the LDFL season. With several of the Blackhawk players sitting out this game, it was the next man up mentality and the players stepped up to the plate. Most notably, LB Kache Palacio who looked magnificent in his Blackhawk debut recording 15 tackles and being all over the field on defense. Palacio spent time with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks playing under Pete Carroll and that fast aggressive Seahawks defense. "Inglewood got a gem in signing him because he's a real deal ball-hawk" stated, journalist Nick Koza of the Inglewood Today. Palacio wasn't the only one making plays as LB Daniel Packer had an outstanding game as well logging 6 tackles, 1 FF, and 2 Fumble Recoveries. One of those recoveries was on a strip and recover in the Lions endzone which stopped the drive. DB Mark English continues to show so much promise during this early season as he had a interception he returned 57 yards while collecting 7 tackles of his own. "I love the way this kid plays the game", stated head coach Tony Reid. He checks off all the boxes of what you want in a DB. Veteran DB Lee Rodgers chipped in with 6 tackles of his own and a timely forced fumble late in the second half.
On offense the Blackhawks finally got the ball rolling behind the QB play of Robert Fuller Sr. who threw for 134 yards and 2 TD's. Fuller had touchdown passes to WR's David Carter who had 4 receptions for 86 yards 1 TD and Justin Sydney who had 6 receptions for 84 yards and 2 TD's. Tony Parham chipped in with 3 timely receptions as well to keep the ball moving. QB Jimmy Do, who started the game due to Fuller being stuck in traffic was 3 of 4 for 97 yards and 1 TD. But the offensive MVP honors went to RB Dezhoentay Fletcher who lit the Lions up for 158 yards on 17 carries and 2 TD's. One of Fletchers touchdowns came on a beautiful run in which the Lions thought they had him stopped but he burst for 85 yards for the score. That touchdown put the game out of hand as Inglewood held off West Coast 34-26.
