Blackhawks Blank Beach City Giants 12-0 to become LDFL Back to Back Champions

COVINA, Calif. (July 26, 2021) -- It seems like history repeats itself every ten years for the Blackhawks as they became back to back champions in 2021 like they did in 2011. Inglewood completed an undefeated 10-0 season and is currently ranked as the #1 team in the nation. Inglewood started off slow but manage to get on the board early in the second quarter when QB Robert Fuller Sr. found WR Justin Sydney right down the seam for a 40 yard touchdown to go up 6-0. The score remained that way for most of the game as this was a great defensive battle between two solid defenses. Inglewood kept the Giants quarterback in check all game as they totaled 8 sacks, one interception, and the hit of the century by LB Devin Jones that excited the crowd. "That was the hardest hit I've seen in person on any level" stated the announcer of the webcast. The Blackhawks other score came on a 22 yard touchdown reception from Fuller to WR Devin Gage. Gage has played lights out the past two weeks which is why he is regarded as one of the best players at this level of football. The Blackhawks were marred by 123 yards in penalties but whenever they felt they had their back against the wall, they came out swinging and held Beach City to, "no points".

RB's Dezhoentay Fletcher and Donte Turner kept the running game in tact but the play of RB Jayson Allmond in the fourth quarter took the souls of the Giants defense as he ran the ball 7 times for 46 yards and to keep the chains moving. "That was a great change up and tactic by Coach Reid to do that in the fourth quarter" stated WR Justin Sydney. Coach Reid also changed his personell on the offensive line which seemed to catch the Giants off guard and wear them down a bit.

LB/DE Trae Bickham was a monster on the field Saturday which earned him the game MVP honors. His play was so amazing on Saturday that he had a fan base after the game commending him on his play. Bickham finished the game with 9 tackles 5 TFL, 5 sacks, and 2 PBU. "He was everywhere tonight and so deserving of his MVP award" stated Linebackers Coach Malcolm Pigford. Other great defensive performances were put in by the Blackhawk secondary of Shaine Boyle (5 tackles), Mark English (5 tackles 2 PBU), Curtis Chatmon (1 INT and 1 PBU), and Brian Flowers Jr. (4 tackles 1 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 FF). Defensive Coordinator Stephon Ross did a great job scheming and having those guys ready for war.

With the win the Blackhawks will now move on to the National GDFL Playoffs in which they will await their opponent to see who will come out of the west and play in the GDFL National Championship which is slated to be played on Labor Day Weekend in Erie, Pennsylvania. Again, congratulations to the Inglewood Blackhawks on their 9th championship victory and #1 spot in the nation.
