LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 9, 2020) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks moved to 5-0 in LDFL play after defeating the visiting Santa Clarita Tigers 36-0 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Inglewood was led by RB Dezhontaey Fletcher who ran for a season high 213 yards on 17 carries and scored 2 TD's. With his performance he was selected as the Crab Shack Player of the Game. Fletcher exploited his opponent with 5 runs over 20 yards with his longest being a 45 yard scamper deep into Tiger territory. The Blackhawks also got a superb performance from QB Robert Fuller Sr who was 19 of 26 for 244 yards and 4 TD's. Fuller leads the LDFL is passing yards with 1,229 and 17 TD passes through 5 games. WR's Jalen Amis and Justin Sydney both hauled in 2 touchdown passes apiece. Sydney finished with 7 receptions for 95 yards while Amis had 5 receptions for 74 yards. The Blackhawk offensive lined looked amazing as they opened up gaping holes for Fletcher to have the day that he had.
Defensively Inglewood harassed the Tiger quarterback all day forcing him into 3 interceptions while sacking him 7 times on the day. DB Lee Rodgers hauled in another interception returning it for 32 yards. That was his league leading 4th interception on the year. Defensive back Donyae Coleman had a interception of his own and a fumble recovery while DB Shaiine Boyle had one as well returning it 55 yards. DT David Williams led all defenders with 8 tackles while DE Devierre Glenn added to his sack total pulling in three on the day. Glenn leads the LDFL in sacks with a total of 13 despite sitting out the second half of three of the Blackhawks 5 league games.
Inglewood will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Las Vegas to take on the Sin City Rough Riders. Kickoff is set for 5PM at El Dorado High School located at 1139 N Linn Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89110.
