Inglewood Defeats 2019 Fall Champion B.C. Giants 25-20 in a Thriller

WILMINGTON, Calif. (January 19, 2020) -- The Blackhawks came back from a 20-18 deficit with just 50 seconds left on the clock as they defeated the 2019 Fall champion beach City Giants by the score of 25-20 at L.A. Harbor College. In a great back and forth battle by the two champions from last season (Spring and Fall), the fans got a great game that went back and forth throughout the contest. QB Robert Fuller Sr found WR Justin Sydney from 5 yards out to take the lead and for the win. Fuller finished the game 15 of 28 for 176 yards 3 TD's and 2 INT's. Sydney finished the game with 4 receptions for 41 yards and the game winning TD. WR's Darius Bratcher and Devin Gage both had touchdown receptions as well. Gage had an awesome game on both sides of the ball as he had 2 receptions for 85 yards 1 TD and the game ending interception. His play earner him the Crab Shack Player of the Week. RB Jason Allmond led the ground attack rushing for 67 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD.

Defensively Inglewood was led by ATH Lonnie Bickham who wreaked havoc on the Giants offense all day long as he finished with 7 tackles, 4 TFL, 4 sacks, and 1 PBU. "Bickham is playing lights outright now" stated Blackhawk head coach Tony Reid. We have the luxury of lining him up all over the field and he finds a way to make a play. LB Devin Jones contributed with 6 tackles while his counterpart Mikell Mair had 5. Inglewood intercepted the Giants 3 times while sacking him 6 times on the day. DB's Brian Flowers Jr and Devin Gage had interceptions while rookie DE Marcus Slaton had the other. DB/WR Cory Butler-Byrd chipped in with 2 tackle, 1 PBU and 154 all-purpose yards.

Inglewood (2-0) will be back at home this Saturday as they host the Southwest Stampede from the AZCFL. The Stampede are one of the perennial power teams in Arizona and are a formidable opponent. "We wouldn't have it any other way" stated LB Devin Jones. We're willing to put our best up against anybody". Kickoff is at 4PM at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
