Blackhawks Cage Silverbacks 56-0 and stamp ticket to their 18th Championship Game Appearance

COVINA, Calif. (May 4, 2019) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks looked nothing like a team that had two weeks off due to byes as hey came out and hit early and often as the obliterated the visiting San Diego Silverbacks by the score of 56-0 at Covina District Stadium. Inglewood got on the board early as QB Robert Fuller Sr. (16 of 23 for 286 yards 4 TD's and 1 INT) found WR Devin Gage racing down the middle of the field for a 47 yard touchdown to put Inglewood up 8-0 early. From that point on it was no stopping the Blackhawks as they raced out to a 42-0 halftime lead. Gage finished the game with 6 receptions for 185 yards and 1 touchdown while LDFL Rookie of the Year Justin Sydney had two of his own. Fuller also found Billy Jordan for a touchdown late in the game to extend their pass to catch touchdown streak to 29 games. Led by DT Edwin Flores who had a game high 6 tackles, 2 for loss and 2 sacks, the Blackhawks were dominate in all phases of the defense. DB Kevin Blane chipped in 5 tackles of his own with one being a hit that knocked Silverbacks player D'Andre Sampson out of his shoe. LB Devin Jones chipped in with 6 tackles of his own. DB Lee Rodgers pulled in another interception (6) to a tie him with the league leader.

With the win the Blackhawks will advance to the LDFL Championship game on May 18th when they will take on the West Coast Lions who defeated the So. Cal Apaches by the score of 32-20.
