Inglewood Finishes the Regular Season 12-0 with 90-0 win over Hi-Desert Vipers

29 Palms, Calif. (April 14, 2019) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks (12-0) finished off the regular season 12-0 and the #1 team going into the playoffs after defeating the Hi-Desert Vipers by the score of 90-0 in 29 Palms California this past weekend. The visiting Blackhawks ran out to a 44-0 first quarter lead before they realizing that the game was pretty much over. Late in the second quarter Coach Reid asked the Vipers and referees for a running clock which was denied until after half-time. By that time, Inglewood was over 60 points and on their way to 90 points. "Of course scoring 90 points is a huge accomplishment but those weren't our intentions before of during the game", stated Head coach Tony Reid. The second half saw the Blackhawks empty the bench, use several different players at different positions, and use it as a means of trying new things for the playoffs. In the interim despite the running clock, the Vipers continued to pass the ball which ultimately were intercepted and returned for touchdowns adding to the total points. Speaking with the Vipers owner after the game he stated that he would rather throw the ball than run it believing that they were better off in that aspect of the game in scoring.

QB Robert Fuller Sr. threw for a team record 8 touchdowns while multi athlete Cory Butler-Byrd had 4 touchdowns on the day. WR Lejuaune Moye had three touchdowns and two 2 point conversions scoring 22 points by himself. Billy Jordan, Devin Gage, and Justin Sydney all had touchdown receptions as well. DB Lee Rodgers had three interceptions on the day having one of his biggest days as a Blackhawk and leading the defense. Devin Gage and Brian Flowers both had picks as well with Gage's going to the house for six from 94 yards out.

The #1 seeded Blackhawks will be off until May 4th when they host either the Santa Clarita Tigers, 805 Bears, San Diego Silverbacks, or West Coast Lions. Kickoff will be at 6PM at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
