Inglewood stays Undefeated after defeating the So. Cal in the LDFL Game of the Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 25) -- Linebacker Roy Otis continues to place feathers in his football cap as he intercepted a Bernard Porter pass on a two point conversion to preserve the Inglewood Blackhawks 14-13 victory over the So. Cal Apaches. In a game that was never in doubt through most of the game but could have easily been stolen by the Apaches as the Blackhawks jumped out to a early 14-0 lead. Inglewood seemed to get complacent with the lead as they took the 14-0 score into the 4th quarter. The Blackhawk touchdowns came on a 17 yard pass reception from Robert Fuller Sr. (10 of 14 for 131 yards 1 TD 1 INT) to Billy Jordan and a 10 yard touchdown run up the gut from RB Terrell Alex (15 rushes for 64 yards and 1 TD).

The talk of the night was the Blackhawk defense as well as the Blackhawk cryptonite which is, "Penalties". The Blackhawks had 11 penalties for 95 yards on the night which not the way you win games. "We can't have that many penalties in the future and expect to win" stated Roy Otis who was the LDFL Visa Player of the Game. Otis had 8 tackles, 1 for loss, and 1 sack on the night. Other stand out defensive performances were put in by DT Edwin Flores (5 tackles, 3 for loss, and 2.5 sacks), Chris Benson (5 tackles, 4 for loss, and 3 sacks), and LB Devin Jones who had 9 tackles, 1 for loss, and 1 sack. "The defense held us down tonight which will make us go harder this week in practice", stated QB Robert Fuller Sr.

With the win Inglewood moved to 9-0 on the season and 7-0 in LDFL play. It also secured them as the #1 team throughout the post season if they continue on the roll that they are on now. This weekend the Blackhawks travel to Santa Clarita where they will take on the Santa Clarita Tigers who defeated the Hi-Desert Vipers by the score of 26-6.
