Inglewood moves to 7-0 with 34-14 Victory over San Diego

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 10, 2019) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks got off to a slow start on Saturday night where it saw them score only 14 points in the first half but they slowly got themselves into gears and raced away with a 34-14 victory over the San Diego Silverbacks. The Blackhawks moved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in LDFL play. The Blackhawk defense took this game in their hands and clamped down after giving up 14 points in the first half. They took it personal and pitched a shut-out in the second half limiting the Silverbacks to less than 100 offensive yards. The defense was led by LB Devin Jones who collected a Blackhawk record 19 tackles on the day. Jones broke LB Roy Otis 7 year record of 17 tackles in a game back on October 20, 2012 against the Vegas Trojans. "Devin was a monster out there today" stated head coach Tony Reid. I think he was motivated by a few things that made him want to make a statement tonight. DT Chris Benson also had a huge game accounting for 10 tackles while DE Travis Taylor had 9. SS Chris Howell had a solid overall game making some crucial plays throughout the game while picking up 7 tackles himself.

Offensively, QB Robert Fuller Sr.continues to light up the scoreboard throwing for another 4 touchdowns while completing 16 of 32 passes. RB Terrell Alex had another solid game rushing 12 times for 121 yards and 1 touchdown. Both Alex and Fuller lead the league in their respective categories. WR Justin Sydney scored two touchdowns to raise his league total to 4 while WR Billy Jordan caught 1 raising his league leading total to 6. RB/WR/DB Brian Flowers continues to play exceptionally well on both sides of the ball as he scored through the air on offense as well.
