Blackhawks send Lions back into Hibernation with 46-14 victory
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (January 26, 2019) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks moved to 2-0 on the season after delivering an early knock-out blow as they defeated the NorCal Lions by the score of 46-14 Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Blackhawks jumped out to a early lead behind the running of tailback Terrell Alex who rushed 8 times on the day for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. QB Robert Fuller added to the dominance on the ground as well as he picked up 43 yards and a touchdown on the day, while WR Cory Butler-Byrd had a magical 39 yard touchdown scamper. The Blackhawk defense played a sound game for the second week in a row as they had two touchdowns of their own on interceptions. DB Brian Flowers returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown while rookie strong safety, Alex Warden took one back 64 yards for a touchdown. Warden also led the defense in tackles with 5 on the day. Cory Butler-Byrd added to his early season highlight reel with another great punt return for a touchdown. This time going 50 yards for the score. The Blackhawks scored the 46 points in a very short second half as the officials implemented the "Mercy" rule and ran the clock the entire second half.
