Blackhawks finish off 10-0 Regular Season with Dismantling of Previously Unbeaten Silverbacks 59-0

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (October 29, 2017) -- The visiting Inglewood Blackhawks very quickly dismantled the host San Diego Silverbacks in a romp, 59-0. The opening drive for the Blackhawks saw QB Wooda Armstrong drop back and bomb a pass to RB Xavier Norris from 49 yards out and with 13:30 to go in the 1st Quarter it was 8-0, Inglewood. A few minutes later at 10:04 remaining in the 1st Quarter Inglewood QB Nic Stephens (14 of 22 for 292 yards 4 TD's 2 INT's) would step into the huddle and find WR Brandon Chambers for a 6-yard TD strike to make it 16-0, Blackhawks. And it just kept getting worse and worse for the host Silverbacks as they simply could not stop the potent Inglewood offense - or penetrate the stifling Blackhawks Defense. With 3 minutes to play in the 1st Quarter Inglewood QB Stephens would find veteran WR Solomon Jones (4 rec 101 yards 2 TD's) for a 3-yard TD toss and it was 23-0. Then with just 48 seconds left in the opening Quarter, DB Lee Rodgers would block a San Diego Punt and DB/RB Thyrell Lewis would scoop it up and race 30 yards to the End Zone and all of a sudden it was 31-0, Inglewood in just the 1st quarter. Inglewood would then empty the sideline of players and that would remain the score at the halftime break with no scoring in the 2nd Quarter. With a running clock starting in the 3rd Quarter and with 7:06 to play,

the floodgates would open yet again as the Silverbacks finally had nice field position at the Blackhawk 12 yard line - but Inglewood LB J.R. White (6 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 INT, 1 sack) would intercept San Diego QB Jo Jo Rauls' deflected pass at the 5-yard line and take it 50 yards to midfield before lateraling it to CB Curtis Perkins who took it the remaining 45 yards for the Defensive score and that would make it 39-0. A minute later with 6:08 to go in the 3rd Quarter after another Silverbacks turnover, Blackhawks QB Stephens would find WR Jones for a 56-yard strike to make it 46-0. The demolition continued with 1:05 left in the 3rd with a 58-yard toss from Inglewood QB Stephens to WR Wooda Armstrong for a 53-0 lead. The final score would come from Blackhawks RB Terrel Alex (14 carries 128 yards 1 TD) as he scampered up the middle for a 30-yard TD run with 9:05 to play in the game. That would make the final score 59-0, Inglewood. DB Lee Rodgers finished the game with 2 blocked punts, 5 tackles, 1 PBU, and1 FR to be named the Crab Shack Player of the Week.

The Blackhawks move to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in Pac West play and hand the Silverbacks their first loss on the season in the crossover game as they fall to 6-1. Inglewood will be the #1 seed in the Pac West Big 8 division Playoffs and host a playoff game on November 18th at 7PM at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
