Apaches no Match for Blackhawks as Inglewood rolls, 49-14

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (August 27, 2017) -- The Blackhawks moved to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Pac West play after defeating the 2016 PCFC Champion So Cal Apaches by the score of 49-14 Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium. It's August but the Blackhawks put on a Firework display on both sides of the ball as QB Nic Stephens threw for 404 yards and 5 touchdowns while the Blackhawk defense accounted for 11 sacks and four interceptions. Stephens looked exceptional in only his third game orchestrating a offense up and down the field. Wide receiver D.J Carter had an exceptional game with 9 receptions for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Solomon Jones continues to show why he's one of the best in the nation hauling in 9 receptions for 143 yards and 1 touchdown. Newcomer Julio Gage showed why Coach Reid has been recruiting him for years as he accounted for 124 all-purpose yards and the 1 touchdown.

The Blackhawk defense looked like they were in mid-season form harassing the Apaches quarterback from the first snap of the game until the whistle blew with zeros on the clock. Defensive end Iosia Iosia had a magnificent game with 7 tackles 5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, a safety, and a 34 yard touchdown on a fumble recovery. His performance earned him the Crab Shack Player of the Game. "When you have a player dominating like that from start to finish, you just have to let him loose" stated Blackhawk defensive coordinator Leon Williams. Linebacker James Buckner had 11 tackles to lead the defense while delivering some bone crushing hits. Cornerback Lorenzo Caldwell contributed to the dominance with 2 of the Blackhawks 4 interceptions.
