Blackhawk Punch Ticket to 10th Championship Game with 45-7 Thumping of Stallions
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 7, 2011) -- The Inglewood Blackhawks
punched their ticket to the 2011 LCFL Championship game with a
dominating 45-17 victory over the San Diego Stallions Saturday night at
Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Blackhawks were led with a ground game
that was led by former Inglewood High and Idaho Vandel, Brian Flowers.
Flowers ran for a season and league high 222 yards on 15 carries. One
of those carries was for an 11 yard touchdown scamper. "I'm just happy
we got the win but it's a bittersweet performance on my behalf". I
could have done better stated Flowers. Running back Raymar Adams
scored as well for the Blackhawks on the ground. (QB) Reggie Haynes,
who has replaced start, Devin Hollins due to injury, played a great
game as well. Haynes was 6 for 10 for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Haynes touchdown passes were to (WR) Nate Harrison and (WR) Deshawn
Edmond.
Defensively, the Blackhawks showed why they are one of the fiercest
defenses in the nation by harrasing Stallion quarterback, Brandon
Newman. Newman is by far one of the best quarterbacks in the league
but he had no time to throw as the Blackhawks forced him into 3
interceptions and sacked him 4 times. Eddie hunter scored on Newman
fumble when he picked it up and raced 55 yard s for a touchdown. Kori
Dickerson, Brandon Souder, Curtis Perkins, and Roy Otis all played
exceptional for Inglewoods defense.
The Blackhawks will now face the North County Cobras on Saturday,
November 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Paloma Valley High School in Menifee
California. These two teams squared off in week one of the LCFL season
when the Blackhawks defeated the Cobras 17-14. The Cobras made it to
the big dance with a 30-26 victory over the #2 seeded National City
Bears. For fan bus, game, or ticket information for this weekends
